La Sexta had access to some of the WhatsApp messages that Javier Enríquez, the son of José María Enríquez Negreira, exchanged with former Barcelona manager Albert Soler in 2017.
In them, Negreira's son laughs at Gil Manzano's performance in the Copa del Rey semifinal second leg in the 2016-17 season, when Barcelona eliminated Atlético Madrid, and in which he reveals to him that the referee "was terrible when it came to directing the game" and that the wrong decisions he made (a penalty and the annulment of a goal) were in favor of Barcelona: "The cards were correct, except for Busquets".
Enríquez reminded the Barça manager in the same messages that there was a 99% chance that the current VAR leader, referee Clos Gómez, would be the referee of the Copa del Rey final between Barcelona and Deportivo Alavés that year. For records, that match was won by Barcelona at the Vicente Calderón Stadium.
La Sexta has also accessed the reports that Javier Enríquez made about the same referee Clos Gómez, from the same 2016-17 season, the last of the referee, and in which Negreira's son celebrated with Albert Soler that Clos Gómez was selected the referee of the Copa del Rey final.
In the report, Enríquez affirms that Clos "has refereed Barcelona in 20 games, with 17 wins and three draws, during which he called 4 penalties in favor of the Catalans (3 of them in their last game) and 2 against them".
