Real Madrid may be plotting a surprise reunion at left-back. According to Italian journalist Nicolò Schira, the club has reopened talks for Theo Hernández — a former Madrid player who is now regarded as one of the best in his position.
The 27-year-old Frenchman, currently at AC Milan, has a contract until 2026. However, if no renewal is agreed upon, the Rossoneri are expected to consider a transfer this summer to avoid the risk of losing him for free in 2026.
Although Theo’s previous stint at the Santiago Bernabéu between 2017 and 2018 was underwhelming, his transformation at San Siro has caught the eye of Europe’s elite — including his former club. Real Madrid are now monitoring his situation closely.
At Valdebebas, several options are being discussed to strengthen the left-back role, but the idea of bringing back Theo — once thought unlikely — has gained new momentum. Milan are reportedly open to negotiating, though any deal is still in its early stages.
