Real Madrid have officially announced that Kylian Mbappé will wear the legendary number 10 shirt starting from the upcoming season.
The number was most recently worn by Luka Modric, who departed the club after an unforgettable era filled with trophies, leadership, and brilliance. The decision to hand the shirt to Mbappé was influenced not only by his status as a generational talent, but also by the enormous commercial value the French superstar brings to the club.
Though Modric did not issue a formal statement, he showed his approval with a subtle but powerful gesture on social media—dropping a fire emoji under Mbappé’s Instagram post about the number change. It was a quiet nod of respect from the Croatian legend to his highly anticipated successor.
The No.10 shirt at Real Madrid has always carried weight, worn by names like Figo, Özil, James Rodríguez, and Modric himself. Now, Mbappé steps into that legacy.
