Real Madrid fans were as excited as David Alaba himself to see the Austrian defender back on the pitch, defending the club’s crest once again. After 399 days of recovery, Alaba felt like a footballer again, and his return was celebrated by both the Bernabéu crowd and his teammates, as well as the coaching staff.
While the on-field moments were significant, the true celebration happened in the dressing room, where Florentino Pérez, along with Alaba’s teammates, embraced and congratulated him. Perhaps the most touching moment was the hug between Alaba and Militao, who have shared the journey of recovery together, with Militao still in the midst of his own process.
