The Competition Committee has decided to sanction Nacho with a three-game suspension, after the defender's harsh challenge on Portu that cost him a direct red card in Montilivi last Saturday in the Girona-Real Madrid game.
"Three game suspension, for using dangerous play causing damage that impairs the faculties of the offended party, with an additional fine for the club in the amount of 1,050 and 600 for the offender. (Article: 122)," reads the resolution.
The three-match suspension represents a hard setback for Ancelotti, who would only have Rüdiger as the only center back available against Osasuna next Saturday, waiting to see if he can recover Alaba, who was injured against Las Palmas. Unless the sanction is reduced, Nacho will be out of el Clasico. Thus, he will miss the games against Osasuna, Sevilla and Barcelona.
