Three point guards that Real Madrid wants

One of Real Madrid's main concerns for this season and the following one is the point guard position. Due to the uncertainty surrounding the future of Carlos Alocén (who is still not playing), Nigel Williams-Goss (who is currently injured) and Sergio Rodriguez, the club continues to look at potential signings for the upcoming season.

Lorenzo Brown was ruled out after he renewed with Maccabi, and because of the difficulties related to the transfer of Campazzo, in Madrid they keep an eye on three players. One of them is the point guard of Cazoo Baskonia, Darius Thompson, who is being followed by almost all the European giants.

The player holds an Italian passport, so he would not occupy a non-EU position. He committed to Baskonia for two seasons last summer, but by the end of the first he will have a termination clause that is affordable for the big clubs. If any club comes with that money, they can get his services without having to bargain with the Vitoria club.

Kostas Sloukas is another player on the list. There has even been some contact with the Greek guard of Olympiacos, who at 33 is ending his contract. Given that he is a key component of the team that is currently leading the Euroleague, it does not appear to be a simple operation. Those from Piraeus naturally want to renew his contract.

And one more name is Alberto Díaz. Real Madrid likes the new emblem of Unicaja, but the Malaga club has already spoken with the player to extend his contract for long term. If the whites want to undertake the signing of him, they would have to pay his exit clause this summer. Probably excessive for a third point gurad, which is the role in which they see the Spanish international.
