Florentino Perez publicly admitted a couple of weeks ago that Real Madrid are in need of some changes this summer, and that’s a decision that had been made even before their elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Chelsea.

Real Madrid‘s rebuilding is set to begin as soon as the season ends on May 23, regardless of whether they manage to win the LaLiga Santander title or not.

COACH

The first matter Real Madrid are expected to deal with is that of their future coach, with the club having already begun monitoring potential suitors in the event Zinedine Zidane departs in summer.

Real Madrid Castilla boss Raul Gonzalez seems to be the Frenchman’s natural replacement, but there are more alternatives available in the market, including Massimiliano Allegri and Joachim Low.

Los Blancos acknowledge that the backbone of this team has offered numerous successes to the club, but the general fatigue and injuries to key players have come to the fore in this last stretch of the season.

The 58 injuries suffered by Real Madrid players so far this season is considered by many to be the result of something being done wrong in the squad.

REAL MADRID LOANEES

Gareth BaleLuka JovicBrahim DiazDani CeballosMartin OdegaardTake Kubo and Reinier Jesus, who is not enjoying much game time at Borussia Dortmund, will all return to Real Madrid when the season ends.

Of all these loanees, only the Norway international could get another opportunity if Zidane leaves in summer, while Kubo and Reinier are still viewed as promising players for the future.

DEPARTURES

Luka Modric has renewed his contract for another season, but neither Lucas Vazquez nor Sergio Ramos have agreed a new deal yet.

Eden HazardMarcelo and Isco are not in the club’s plans for next season, but offloading them this summer will not be an easy task due to their high salaries.

SIGNINGS

David Alaba will be a Real Madrid player next season and the club are willing to sign an elite forward, with Kylian Mbappe being their primary target.

The French striker wants to move to Los Blancos and Paris Saint-Germain could cash in on him this summer to avoid losing him for free in 2022, when his contract comes to an end.

Meanwhile, Erling Haaland‘s potential move solely depends on Dortmund‘s demands, as his price tag could be set at 150 million euros, a figure Real Madrid may struggle to meet.
