Despite the fact that Real Madrid announced just over a week ago the renewal of Toni Kroos, deciding to put aside the tempting offers from Saudi Arabia, the fact that the German midfielder could leave the Santiago Bernabéu, sooner than later, worries the club. The German midfielder continues to be key in Carlo Ancelotti's schemes, but he is aware of the renovation that the white midfield is undergoing and has spoken, on the RTL television channel, about his future at Real Madrid.

The white '8' is adamant that he does not want his time with the club to end with a performance that falls short of expectations and that he is thinking about retiring "at a really excellent level."

"There are one or two negative examples, for simply not being able to leave football, when you are no longer the player that people have in mind. I don't want that to happen to me," he said.

For the moment, Kroos still seems to have the power to continue performing at a high level and he wanted to highlight the good level of this last season. "I have the feeling that this season has gone as well as the last nine in Madrid. Why wouldn't the next one go as well? I still enjoy football and I'm hungry for titles," he added.
