As expected, Real Madrid have made significant changes to their medical team following the persistent knee injuries affecting first-team players.
The club’s leadership was particularly unhappy after the setbacks involving Eder Militão and Dani Carvajal, prompting a full overhaul of the medical department.
Journalist Alberto Pereiro from Onda Cero confirmed the news via social media: “Changes in Real Madrid’s medical staff. A purge of most personnel from previous seasons. Nearly 100% new physios and rehabilitation experts. New arrivals from Granada, Betis, Málaga, and Barcelona. Felipe Segura given full authority, currently negotiating all salaries.”
This marks a total restructuring within Real Madrid across all departments, with president Florentino Pérez and director José Ángel Sánchez spearheading the initiative.
The club hopes the changes will lead to better injury management and recovery protocols. Beginning Monday, head coach Xabi Alonso will also have decision-making power in this area, signaling a tighter alignment between the coaching staff and the medical services.
