UEFA has been working for months on restructuring its competitions to make them more attractive and also more profitable. In this sense, last season the first edition of the Conference League was played, the third competition organized by UEFA, and last May the new format of the Champions League was made official, which will be in effect from the 2024-25 season.

In addition to these changes, a new idea for the European Super Cup is being studied. Currently, the Champions League and Europa League champions face each other in a single game on a neutral field. The plan being considered by UEFA is to transform the Super Cup into a Final Four that would take place outside of Europe. According to The Guardian, particularly in the United States.

The participants would be the Champions League champion, the Europa League champion and the Conference champion. Together with them, the MLS champion would participate as a guest team. A total of four games will be played. Two semi-finals, the consolation final and the grand final.

Due to the significant potential for attracting new audiences, UEFA views the US as a key market in its growth strategy. In actuality, UEFA's new English broadcasting rights agreement in the United States is a 150% improvement over their previous agreement.

Since it is still a project in development, nothing is concrete or finalized, but it is assumed that the new Super Cup will start playing in 2024.
