Just hours after confirmation of one of the summer’s biggest shocks, Savinho’s potential move from Manchester City to Tottenham, speculation is growing that Real Madrid could indirectly become part of the story.

According to Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano, City and Spurs are in advanced talks for the Brazilian winger, who joined Pep Guardiola’s side from Girona last summer. David Ornstein of The Athletic reports that the deal could be finalized for just over £50 million. Coupled with the possibility of Jack Grealish leaving, Guardiola is expected to target a high-profile wide player.

Guardiola’s admiration for Rodrygo Goes is no secret. The Real Madrid forward — who favors the left wing, the same zone where Grealish has been most influential — could find himself perfectly suited to City’s needs. If Savinho departs and Grealish follows, two attacking spots would be up for grabs.

Up to now, City have been relatively quiet in the market since the Club World Cup, but things could accelerate quickly. After securing Trafford, who is expected to challenge Ederson for the starting goalkeeper role, Guardiola might turn his attention to Rodrygo.

If a move happens, Real Madrid would reportedly demand €80–90 million for their number 11. Such a fee could allow Xabi Alonso to reinforce two priority positions: a creative midfielder and additional depth in defense.
