The Super League is advancing its plans. A22, the company behind the tournament, has submitted a 20-page letter to UEFA seeking official recognition for the competition. This move follows a favorable ruling by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) a year ago, which required UEFA and FIFA to recognize "any competition that is inclusive, merit-based, and respects the global calendar," conditions that A22 fulfills. CEO Bernd Reichart, who has been in negotiations with numerous European teams for months, claims to have received a "positive collective response."

The letter unveils new details about the competition, now officially named UNIFY League. This league will also introduce a dedicated streaming platform that not only offers live match coverage but also highlights, analysis, and exclusive content from each club and its star players. The platform will feature multiple viewing options: a free, ad-supported version for live match streaming and a subscription option with minimal ads. Subscribers will enjoy enhanced features like camera selection, live statistics, and interactive tools.

A22 has informed UEFA of its revised competition format. The key development is that each club's placement in the four-tiered UNIFY League will be based on their national league standings. The top 96 clubs will be divided into four categories, with the Star League being the top tier, composed of 16 teams split into two groups of eight. The second tier, the Gold League, will follow the same format, while the third and fourth leagues will each have 32 teams.

The letter from A22 to UEFA is not only a request for the organization to comply with the CJEU ruling, but also a clear statement of intent to launch the tournament in a way that adheres to the 'European Sporting Model.' Copies of the document were also sent to the European Commission and FIFA on Tuesday.
