Usman Garuba left Real Madrid in 2021 when the Houston Rockets selected him with the 23rd overall choice in the NBA Draft. According to Carlos Sánchez Blas, the 21-year-old center is about to make his comeback to the Spanish capital after being away for two years.
All parties reportedly want to even have him participate in the Super Cup on September 16 in Murcia.
This summer, Garuba was traded twice, first to the Atlanta Hawks and then to the Oklahoma City Thunder. However, the Thunder released him less than a week before the FIBA World Cup.
With the Rockets, he had 99 NBA appearances, playing an average of 12.2 minutes per game and averaging 2.8 points and 3.9 rebounds.
