The evolution of Fede Valverde in recent years has been exponential, especially since Zidane returned to Real Madrid bench and gradually gave Valverde flight. Back then, the Uruguayan was nicknamed 'El Pajarito', but today he is known as 'El Halcón'.

Fede Valverde recently shared the insider information regarding his nickname change: "All the people joined the 'Halcón' thing. I liked it, which is the main thing. It was very funny to me and today there are people at home who become angry because they want people to keep calling me Pajarito, but I'm the Halcón now", explains the Real Madrid midfielder.

Valverde is now concentrating on what will be his first World Cup with the senior Uruguay team after a very successful first half of the season with Real Madrid, both individually and collectively. The midfielder will be expected to guide his nation in an effort to advance as far as possible in Qatar. The Uruguayan team has undoubtedly been drawn in a difficult group, along with Portugal, Ghana, and South Korea.
