Real Madrid received a boost on Monday as they returned to training at Real Madrid City, with Fede Valverde taking part in the session normally alongside his teammates. The Uruguayan midfielder is therefore expected to be available for Wednesday's Champions League match against AEK Athens.
Valverde, who has been playing as a full-back in recent matches, missed the game against Racing Santander due to discomfort in his right hamstring that had persisted since El Clásico. After several days of recovery, he appears to have overcome the problem and could return to action in European competition this week.
