After featuring in Real Madrid’s match against Villarreal last Saturday, Fede Valverde has joined up with the Uruguayan national team for their upcoming fixtures. Following the Villarreal game, several Real Madrid players showed signs of fatigue, prompting the club to declare that they “will not play unless there is at least 72 hours of rest between matches.”

Upon his arrival in Montevideo, Valverde addressed the issue of his playing time, sharing his willingness to keep going despite the heavy schedule: “You always want to play, and you have to know when to stop, but we’re working well with the coaching staff and physios. Honestly, I feel good.”

The Uruguayan has been a vital player for Carlo Ancelotti, excelling both in midfield and at full-back. Valverde has accumulated 2,205 minutes this season, playing in 26 of the 28 matches, starting 25 of them. He’s also expected to start Friday’s Clásico against Argentina in Montevideo.
