Like many other footballers, Vinicius Jr. is exploring ways to diversify his investments, with football continuing to play a central role. According to ESPN Brasil, the Real Madrid star is eyeing the acquisition of a club in Portugal’s Second Division, specifically Alverca, as reported by O Jogo.

The forward is reportedly prepared to make an offer of 10 million euros, surpassing previous bids from other investors that were rejected by the current owners. The Portuguese club’s leadership is open to selling, creating an opportunity for Vinicius to make his move.

Alverca, based in Alverca do Ribatejo near Lisbon, currently sits eighth in the league, just six points shy of the promotion spots. The club has spent five seasons in Portugal’s top flight and an equal number in the second division.

If Vinicius moves forward with his offer and successfully completes the purchase, he wouldn’t be the first active footballer to own a club. His teammate Kylian Mbappé recently became the majority shareholder of Caen, a French Second Division team, after investing 15 million euros six months ago.
