Vinicius Júnior will miss El Clásico after the Competition Committee handed him a four-match suspension following his dismissal against Villarreal last Saturday. The Brazilian was sent off for pulling Nathan Saliba's hair, an incident that also led to his goal being disallowed. He will miss the matches against Sevilla, Barcelona, Racing Santander and Valencia, returning after the November international break.

Referee Isidro Díaz de Mera included both the reason for Vinicius' red card and an additional incident that took place after the forward was sent off in his report. VAR alerted the referee to the initial incident, prompting him to review the footage and change his decision.

The disciplinary ruling outlines two separate suspensions, each lasting two matches. The report states: "2 matches suspension for violent conduct outside of the game, not being able to contest the ball or the stopped game , with accessory fine(s) in application of article 5. And another suspension: 2 matches suspension for protests to the referee, main, assistant or fourth referee."
