Vinicius Júnior, currently on a short break before rejoining Real Madrid training for the new season, opened up to GQ Spain in a candid interview that touched on his journey so far, his inspirations, and the legacy he hopes to leave behind.

“Playing at this level, for the biggest club in the world and for my national team, still feels like a dream,” he said. Despite all he’s achieved, Vinicius remains deeply connected to his roots, often thinking about where he came from and how far he’s come. He knows that his story resonates with kids who grew up like he did, and that makes everything he does even more meaningful. “Knowing that my story can motivate someone to pursue their own dreams means the world to me.”

He also spoke about those who have inspired him throughout his life. Cristiano Ronaldo and LeBron James stand out—not just for their unmatched achievements, but for the relentless dedication they show every single day. “Cristiano has always inspired me with his work ethic. He never stops striving to be the best. And LeBron, not just on the court, but for what he’s done for his community.” Of course, he didn’t forget the Brazilian legends who shaped his own football identity: Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, and Neymar, icons who mean everything to Brazilian fans.

While many players might be satisfied after scoring in two Champions League finals, Vinicius is not one of them. “I've already achieved a lot, but my dreams are far from over,” he admitted. His ambition is clear: to keep winning trophies with Real Madrid, to succeed with the Brazilian national team, and to keep inspiring the next generation—not just through football, but through education and social change. His foundation, focused on improving education in Brazil, is a central part of that dream. “My biggest dream is to leave a legacy that goes beyond football.”

When asked to pinpoint the most defining moment of his career, Vinicius couldn’t choose just one. From his professional debut with Flamengo to signing with Real Madrid and shining on the biggest stages in world football—each moment has shaped him. “They’ve all made me who I am, both as a player and a person.”

He ended by speaking about the responsibility he feels as a role model. For him, being in the spotlight isn’t just about fame or goals; it’s about showing others what’s possible. “I try to stay focused, humble, and remember where I come from. Being a role model is about setting the right example. With hard work and respect, anything is possible.”
