The Vitinha operation at Real Madrid is steadily gaining traction. The PSG midfielder has long been regarded as the preferred option among Madrid’s technical staff, and he is also highly admired by the fanbase. For months, however, his signing appeared to be an impossible task. That perception may now be shifting.
A key factor is the improved relationship between Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Florentino Pérez following the recent agreement with UEFA and the ECA, which effectively brought the European Super League project to a close. After publicly praising Pérez, the PSG president helped ease tensions between both institutions, a development that could potentially facilitate future negotiations.
This renewed diplomatic climate could open the door to talks over Vitinha. Real Madrid are fully aware that this summer represents a crucial moment to reinforce a midfield that has lost quality after the consecutive departures of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, without direct replacements arriving.
The remaining uncertainty concerned the Portuguese international’s own position. According to The Touchline, Vitinha would welcome the opportunity to move to the Santiago Bernabéu: “Vitinha loves the idea of playing for Real Madrid. The player is happy at Paris Saint-Germain, but considers the Spanish club the ultimate aspiration in world football. He would be open to a move if they called him.”
Despite this openness, any deal would be far from simple. Vitinha is under contract with PSG until June 30, 2029, after signing a renewal exactly one year ago. Securing his transfer would therefore require a substantial financial effort from the Spanish club.
