The Palacio de los Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid, currently known as the WiZink Center for sponsorship reasons, will undergo a name change in 2025. One of Spain's premier venues for sporting events and concerts, the arena will be renamed Movistar Arena at the beginning of the new year. This venue hosts Real Madrid Basketball's home games in the Endesa League and Euroleague, as well as Movistar Estudiantes’ matches in the Primera FEB. In addition, it regularly serves as a stage for concerts and major events, making it a key attraction in Madrid.
Telefónica and Impulsa Eventos e Instalaciones have signed a sponsorship deal that will result in the iconic venue’s name change. The goal of this rebranding is to further enhance the arena’s potential, leveraging the technological capabilities and innovative possibilities of the Telefónica brand to elevate the fan experience.
WiZink Bank’s transformation, bolstered by a new strategic plan, has led to this name change. "We are extremely proud to have contributed to the Center's growth over the past decade of sponsorship, positioning it as a leading venue for sports, music, and major events, not only in the Community of Madrid but nationwide," said Iheb Nafaa, CEO of WiZink Bank, headquartered in Ciudad Lineal, Madrid.
The Movistar Arena will further Telefónica's global commitment to various regions worldwide, aiming to provide a comprehensive offering that spans sports and music, with over 220 concerts already confirmed for 2025 on Calle Goya in Madrid.
