In the 67th minute, with Real Madrid leading 3-1, Xabi Alonso was visibly frustrated with Vinícius Júnior over his intensity while pressing Betis during their build-up play.
From the touchline, the Real Madrid coach could be heard urging the Brazilian winger to apply more pressure higher up the pitch. “Come on, Vini! Press! Keep pressing!” Alonso shouted repeatedly, clearly unhappy with his player’s positioning and work rate at that stage of the match.
Footage broadcast by DAZN showed Alonso’s dissatisfaction with Vinícius’ attitude in several moments, as he continued gesturing and demanding more effort from the technical area. “Don’t stop, keep pressing! One more, come on!” he insisted.
Roughly ten minutes later, Alonso opted to replace Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo, bringing on Arda Güler and Franco Mastantuono. Despite the earlier tension, the substitution passed without incident, as Vinícius and the coach exchanged a calm greeting, showing no visible signs of disagreement.
