Flamengo's defeat against Al Hilal in the Club World Cup semifinals turned against Arturo Vidal, who after winning the Copa Libertadores had provoked Real Madrid. The Chilean was expecting to play against the Spanish giants in the final, but the setback against the Saudis prevented him of that.
"Real Madrid, we are going to break your ass,” Arturo Vidal said after beating Athletico Paranaense in the Copa Libertadores final. Zico, one of the great legends of Flamengo and Brazilian football, did not like those words at all.
"If the fans sing, okay, I don't see any problem. Fans are fans, that's normal. What professionals cannot do is this. You have to be respectful, especially with a team like Real Madrid,” Zico declared on S1 Live.
"Flamengo is at the level it is today thanks to two sales to Real Madrid, which later allowed us to build a great squad. The departure of Vinicius Jr. and Reinier paid off well for the coffers. So, above all that, I have to respect Real Madrid”, he added.
